I created a chair for a specific site and user for this assignment. The site is the top of the tallest mountain in the world. At first, this task seemed daunting and unnecessary. Why would anyone need a chair at the top of Mt. Everest? I soon realized that design could occur in the most eclectic of sites. I learned that Mt. Everest needed a lot of love and respect. Unfortunately, Western tourists continue to disrespect the precious lands of Nepal. Therefore, a symbol of respect is necessary to inhabit the summit. The material can not add to the rest of the waste that pollutes the geography. The final design of this chair is to theoretically sit on the top of Mt.Everest, respect the land, religion, and most importantly, the people who were there first. The ones who keep the visitors and spirit of the journey alive on their exhibition.
